  • Personal business advisers with agencies such as Business Link work in a team of advisers, led by a team manager.

Personal business advisers normally work office hours, though some meetings may be in the evening or at the weekend.

Personal business advisers usually earn from around £18,000 to over £25,000.

A personal business adviser needs to be:

  • clear and analytical
  • objective, with a non-judgemental approach

  • an excellent communicator.

Most personal business advisers have a degree or other relevant professional qualification. Because of the substantial business experience required, most personal business advisers start as adults.
